Gurg was born on Ossus the third planet in the Adega system in the Auril Sector. Originally a rich, lush world, Ossus was ravaged into an arid and toxic planet with the destruction of the Cron Cluster, but later restored by Yuuzhan Vong terraformers through the Ossus Project.

As a young boy, Gurg was always an explorer, yet always being cautious because of the hostile enviornment. Ossus was an important Jedi site for over twenty-five millennia, serving as a repository of knowledge and a center for learning for the Old and New Jedi Orders alike.

In the latter years of the Old Republic and beyond, it was home to the tribal Ysanna, descendants of Jedi who had survived the Cron supernova.
When Gurg and his father went on a camping trip, Gurg started to explore the surrounding area, and he came upon some ruins, which he instinctively searched.

He explored the now destroyed enclave for hours before realizing he forgot about his father. When he got back to the camp he was yelled at, and the trip was shortened. They left the next day.

After that day, Gurg had always felt more calm, and at a sense of tranquility. A year later, when Gurg was 11 the Empire came and was demanding the coordinates of ruins, apparently its information was on a now destroyed Star Destroyer.

When Gurg's family was questioned They all denied knowing it. But only Gurg's parents were questioned. One of the stormtroopers believed his father was lying so he started to punch him in the face after each question he didn't get the answer he wanted.

Gurg just sat there watching his father suffer, until suddenly he felt a burst of energy inside him, and the stormtrooper was blown away from his father. When Gurg realized what happened he noticed his hands were moved up. The stormtrooper gazed at him for a moment trying to contemplate what happened.

Gurg's father was in awe, he knew Gurg's grandfather was a Jedi on Coruscunt during the Clone Wars and that the gene was passed down to Gurg. The trooper raised his carbine, and took aim at Gurg.

His father jumped on the stormtrooper trying to pull the gun out of his hand, he kept yelling "Run!". An that's what Gurg did, he ran past another stormtrooper who was trying to fight off his mother armed with a knife.

When he got out the door he heard blaster fire, and tears started to run down his cheeks. He ran down the big hill by his house as the sun rained down on him full fury towards the smalle Trade Outpost their town had.

He managed to sneak on board a shuttle, and he wept the whole way to the planet where things would only get worse......Nar Shaddaa.
