Ok, I'm revising this thread because the more I think on it, the more people seem to be having fun other then some actions others are taking.
I'm starting another thread so that others will see it and we can discuss some things that need to be hammered out. I just don't like giving up.

Works for me, but my question is what I do about information/events that happened during this arc? _________________ Were I in your shoes, I would spend my last earthly hours enjoying the world. I don't know...because for MERCS to pull out like this doesn't fulfill the purpose of the invasion in the first place.
We would have to literally nuke the city and leave. I'll let the community decide how to end it since it's been so good at this every time we try an arc. |

Dammit to hell - I was just starting to have fun!
And for what it's worth, I'd prefer that we NOT just erase the entire last month's worth of RP. There's *got* to be a way we can resolve this without negating weeks of RP. _________________ Rinna/Rinna'

Well that is a shame because MERCS has done an outstanding job with this story arc as far as I am concerned. I think that if RyStorm had been allowed to enter into the fray it would have got interesting.
I hope you re-consider this decision. I know many were having fun with it. It gave us something to do. RP is always fun, but sometimes even it can burn you out. A good combination of RP with RPvP is the best combo to keep from this kind of burn out IMHO.
Novall I hope MERCS can still be in the town to mess things up. It was just starting to get interesting. The story was well done, and I think for those of us that don't mind getting caught or injured for RP had fun with it. For those that did not like the RPvP then maybe they should play a lower key role. There are always kinks in RPvP to be worked out. And I for one think that there were very few to be worked on. Its too bad, I barely got into it before it has stopped. |

Until I'm told otherwise, IC, Nyvveck ordered Adunaphel to leave as governer and basicly has decided that all the citizens of Nocturnus are traitors (for either trying to get the MERCS out of the town, or for not fighting actively against the people trying to ge the MERCS out of the town). That's considering that the last couple weeks will be remembered IC. _________________ Were I in your shoes, I would spend my last earthly hours enjoying the world. I agree, I thought MERCS and TEMPL both stood out to me during the briefness of the arc and I think with a few exceptions both acquitted themselves quite well.
I am wondering what all the specific issues that led to it falling apart were that way we can try to avoid some of them in future storylines.

Ahh well, to bad. Was just starting to let leak the information I had to certian parties to show who the real traitors were, but oh well. log files are already deleted. _________________

Too bad; it was fun.
And last Friday's little combat was looking like we could get up some after-combat OOC duels. We were getting to know and like playing with the individual Mercs, as well as the Mercs-in-a-group.
Maybe we can get up some more NPC, on both sides, group conflict...to hone both Mercs skills and Temple's plus friends'. If we do some mix and match, in urban and non-urban environments...?
Shoot, we could work up quite a little army...then we would have to go looking for another army to hone skills against. That could add a whole new dimension to the game. _________________ "It is. Deal with it." |

well novall is right...
though the arch ending is a shame (i was just about to slap flinko around last night for various reasons primary being his facination with my chest)
i do agree that ending the event before theres any hurt feelings on either side is a good idea.. but i am curious if these events officially happened or if its an elseworlds kind of thing _________________

I was only on briefly on Saturday, but I think I missed something?
What problems are we talking about? Damn, I was almost caught up and ready to be in the frey, and it ends? _________________

Hey, Cym, I must have missed something too.
I was thinking that things were going very well...not because of our minor strikes against the Mercs, but because of the OOC get-together after the strikes and because so many people were finding ways of pulling themselves into the arc.
I was hoping that the meeting would get us all on the same page, clear up any minor obstacles, and would perhaps have convinced dStar to join on the Mercs side...as honorary Mercs...to even up the developing numbers on the other side.
I have no idea what went wrong...aside from some few people whining and ruining it for all the rest of us. _________________ "It is. Deal with it." |
