Tabula RasaThe release date is set for early October. Anyone intending to get it? I am.
I really like the story driven quest system that has quests with consequences based on decisions you make.

I was in the beta, and it didn't strike me as anything special.

Never heard of it. I'm not likely to play anything other than SWG or DAoC until Warhammer comes out.

I would like to try the beta. Me is jealous.
Despite it not being anything special, was it running relatively well? No major massive gameplay hampering bugs like in the vanguard beta?

And for a third-person shooter like Tabula Rasa, lag = death.
You need one hell of a computer for this game to run smoothly, even with the graphics turned way down. My computer just barely meets the minimum requirements, but I can run various other new MMOs just fine.
It's an interesting game, but unfortunately I think the hefty PC requirements will be this game's downfall. If you don't have a top-of-the-line PC than you may as well not even play it, which really sucks.
I was planning to pick up this game when it launches, but unless the lag gets fixed I'm not going to bother. I'd have to upgrade my computer a lot, and I don't feel like paying that much just for a single game.
Not to mention everyone in armor look like clowns. You have to get dye to recolor your armor, but dye isn't a common drop from NPCs so you'll be lucky if you get one or two dyes by level ten (and you need one dye for each piece of armor).
And unfortunately looted armor always seems to be an ugly color. Even in the tutorial you're awarded with pink and purple armor.

As noted in another thread; this game has been riddled with set backs too. That couldn't have helped it up to this 'closed Beta', I take it, point.
In fact, they had it as 'Coming Soon' and in NCSoft's lil order catalog when I tried out Lineage 2, oh so many years ago.
I'd suggest spending more time on SWG or checking out either SGW or STO to be honest.

When I was still playing it, I would get Python code errors, as would many other people, that would crash the game. They've probably fixed that by now.
Unforunately, the game lacks any RP-ability. To me, it seemed to be just a simple third person shooter with a few fantasy elements (rune-type powerups that you can collect called Logos).

Well I have been playing it tonight and I really like it. It has a lot of rp aspects to it. You just have to slow yourself down and read quests and such. I'm impressed with it and enjoy the gameplay immensely.
I havnt had any lag problems and my graphics are maxed out save a few options like 64 bit textures and SLI.

I also wanna say the armor dye things drop all the time for me. I have recolored a few full sets of armor.

Supposedly the Devs will be adding some role play content in coming updates. What those updates will have, I have no idea...

Well, I've been having immense lag. And looking at the forums, it looks like other people have too. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon.
I have all of the graphics options turned all the way down, or turned off completely, and I can still barely run it.
This could be a great game, but it needs a lot more work.
Still, it has a long way to go to be as awsome as "Auto Assault" was. I wish they would've done more with AA, that game was so much fun but could've been so much more.

Just in case we don't have Googlers here.
I'm still not at all that impressed myself. But I do fit into that franchise follower crowd. Star Wars, Star Gate, Star Trek, Babylon 5, things like that will just get my buck usually before a no-name will.

But unfortuantely there aren't many other sci-fi MMOs out there other than SWG, that are still running.
Dang I miss "Auto Assault"...

Ah well, downloading the Beta so if anyone wants to mess around with this a little this weekend shoot a PM or post and I'll let ya know my in game name once I get ready to launch.
I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and try it... but I'm going in with low expectations on this one still.

Well, I gave this about a week as far as benefit of the doubt. For a game they let you join Beta with but then decide to up the specs on... they get a big Jim Carey La-Ooooose-Er! on TB from me.

I don't know, I've been enjoying it. In the last few weeks of beta it seems like the Devs did a lot of work to get some more things out into the game, and it seems to have helped a lot. Not to mention they're going to be adding some pretty neat stuff pretty soon-- like hybrid characters of human/alien, vehicles, combat 'mechs, a marketplace, and they're going to be upgrading the crafing system a bit more.
I also enjoy the combat system more than I do the one in SWG. They're very similiar, actually, but the one in TR seems a heck of a lot better. They're both FPS wannabe games, but at least TR does it fairly well.
I also got to participate in some of the events, like the Halloween event which was pretty neat and I got some neat masks and a fun little emote; and the end of beta event where we all got to fight against Richard Garriot himself. That was fun.
Sure, it's not the best MMO I've ever played, but I've played worse too.
I have to admit, I've changed my mind about Tabula Rasa... I picked up the limited collector's edition for it and got an account going. I like it. It should keep me occupied into PotBS.

Crom laughs at this game!
But in reality it just dose not strike me as an MMO I would pay monthly for.
