I read that the other day and thought to myself why did they even publish that. It was about as informative as flipping a rock over.

Flipping a rock over can be pretty informative...unless you already know what is under it

I never really got into Stargate a bunch, but does this have the possibility for space combat?

They say its going to mirror the show to some extent so I would think there would be the possibility. The teams eventually capture enough alien technology in their travels to build their own ships but early in the show they just used captured Gould gliders and transports.
Glider - 2 seated fighter (atmospheric and space)

I just need some capital ship space combat, thats what SWG is missing, the command of a ship, even if its a NPC crew and pc command crew, I would love to see that.
If Stargate has some space combat I will surely check it out.

Early in the program there wasn't a lot of space combat so I would see that as an expansion if they plan on making it sort of a timeline based game. It would be kind of cool if they had a space race between servers to see who could gain the technology needed to build viable spacecraft to fight in the war.
In the last few seasons, with the aid of alien races, the people of earth have built several interstellar ships and multiple fightercraft for each. Think of them as pocket battleships with fighterbays. In my opinion it would suck if they don't give you the ability to not only engage the enemy in space combat (including capital ships) but to also send on boarding parties. A big part of the show is them fighting on enemy ships.
We'll see what happens. Here's to high hopes!
