Star Trek OnlineUsualy star wars/trek fans hate each other however I am a next gen fan myself. Anyone interested in the Star Trek online MMORPG that "should" be closed beta summer of 2007.I have been keeping a close eye on it and can not wait for it to be open beta. |

I'm 99% sure there was a thread about STO that Batty, DD, Zyre, Rinna, and I (and others) had posted our intended character selections and our plan to create the U.S.S. Gorath, as soon as we were able....but I can't find it in the Other Games section. I was gonna link ya.
The short version: Yes, there are several of us that have been looking forward to STO for a long while. |

I fully intend on being a part of this game. But I don't think I will be trying the beta out. I been doing that for 3 years in SWG already. I'd like to play a finished game and I am hoping thats what happens when this comes out.

Well I have always wanted to run a ship the size of somthing near galaxy class. I know this sounds like everyone ells but I want to be a captain and have something that looks similar to the ships that have the engines below the ship rather then above. I always thought it made them look more deadly even if they were only science vessals.

I *thought* I was using an official forum when I started this up...
Here But I don't think it is. But Was going to use that sight as a springboard for STO. We've got a few threads up about it though like Shensen said. To my understanding though... We don't get a static ship that we can 'name' as of now. 
And... /agree Jabe I don't want in Beta even if ya get goodies when it goes live. Beta Order... maybe. |

I am one of those people who will beta test just so I can learn how to power grind myself to get to the top. I am sure it will take a long time to get captain so might as well learn the ropes while it is beta even when it is subject to change(tm) | ||||

Doubt I'll play, except maybe to give it a shot (I usually attempt to try every MMO I can just to say I've played it  ). But I don't really like Star Trek. Never have...

Anyone got any new news from it? I have watched the forums but still nothing but speculation.
My biggest problem with it is all ground combat is FPS which is not fair to those with the lack of interest for FPS. After all it is sapose to be an MMORPG. |

Yeah I pretty much have no interest in it at this point. You don't pay monthly to do an FPS, period.

Well the fact that it is mandatory for people like engineer's to do away team missions is not that cool. Grant it Geordi did but normaly he had the option to go or not. I see no reason to have everyone needed to go down unless it is a star base. | ||||

I suck at aiming. Give me targeting and let me worry about my stats and specials. FPS for 14.99 a month, no thanks.

They'll upgrade the combat system and rebalance it and then later on introduce an entirely new game experience! Sounds like fun!! Jabe |

I do hope they do a little re-thinking with the combat system for STO. Aside from that...
Damn! The screenshots they've been working on look amazing!!! I'm going, wait, that's suppose to be what it'll look like in game? *drool* |
