Request for Help

Okay guys, the events forum seems kind of slow this time of year with not much going on for holidays, etc..., and just a few regulars active with events.

Pex and I are working on getting something up and running and I need your help in picking an Icon for an event promoter, before we can proceed.

Please visit this thread and help choose, please!

I would greatly appreciate your help!

The in game "Live Event" badges might work.  Went ahead and tossed that out there as an idea in thread.

i REALLY miss the random city attacks from NPC's

nothing scared the crap outta you then merrily wanding around your player city, then noticing 50 Rebels descending upon the city hall, and you flailing wildly into guildchat for reinforcements.

we need more RANDOM events smile

How long does Pex think it'll take to get some test icons up for selection now, Cym?  Only been a day but the thread seems to have gotten plenty of feedback so far.

I spoke with Pex on this as well.  Right now the issue is manpower at SOE.  Most of CS is focused on answering tickets and helping players and time can not be focused on Random events.  But they have said they would like to help Pex out more with somethinig like this...

He once mentioned something like (EQ2 guide program or something) where high level players had certain abilities to run quests, but SOE would have a long process of putting it in and he felt it scrapped.  I asked if the events senator could at least get some kind of spawning ability and create some random events on my time on random servers...

Right now some things are being discussed.  I can keep you updated.

I can't reply to the official thread, but I liked the idea of the two-headed alien from the boonta eve race.  Sy snoodles and some of the other suggestions would be better suited specifically to entertainers imo.

Vouched for your "unofficial" vote to help out, Shen.  Added a few more ideas as well.

Really I think Pex is going to be looking at multiple icons for an Event Icon.  Two through three at a minimum would do it I think.

We've discussed this.  I suggested we make one (rotate) with these new sigs and programs that allow you to flash between 3 or 4 sigs to show all of your toons, why not have a icon that flashed between three or four things.  He is checking with the forum folks to see if that is even possible.  We then discussed combat and social aspects and separating them that way...but yeah, seems we are headed to a few of them.

Yeah I read that he wanted a couple of em.  The red carpet sound good in theory, but I don't know how to make it artfully appealing in such a small size.

The new Elite Pilots got a x-wing, tie, and YT-1300 avatar.  So there is another Imperial one, even though it came with Reb and Neut.

But yeah, I notice the same thing.  I think they should reward officers in GCW with something to show thier faction or rank...
