Reasoning behind the Jedi Animation changes OR stuff... Clicky
Caught this one in the Jedi Forum. Figured a few of our resident animation nuts might like the explanation/read.
I'm leaning toward random firing and getting them all back in as opposed to the limited animation option given we only have two options available going by what AdeptStrain has said.
Hopefully he expands on this with the other animations/professions as well.

Where does the picket line start for pistol-whip? Nuri, Rinn and I have our placards already drawn up.

There certainly has been a small stir on the boards since the re-implementation of a couple of the saber animations. Heck, I even saw Tisy doing some TK stuff with knucklers already.
One person even started a thread to bring back the knock down animation.
After seeing this I think just about anything is possible as far as seeing animations back without having to use a damn mod.

the 2h LS animations appear broken. a lot of the time i'm just standing there and not moving, much like an SBD carrying a stun baton did in the DWB.

Healing seems to off set the animation triggers to me. Leaving you with that 'I'm a statue' look while your still, in fact, dealing damage. It was bound to have some kinks in it.

I haven't seen any problems with them, unless my looks are just clientside (I got rid of my mods when the animations where put back in).

Aye, I forgot about having mods. I've still got mine installed I think. They never seemed to work anyway though.

Throwing this out there as well.
Jedi Strike 1-5 all have the same apparent animation.
Jedi Strike 6-7 have the same apparent animation as well.
So, if you put up Strike 5 and Strike 7 you can get a little variation on your animations firing off.
It seems to be about the same thing with the Sweeps.
With 1-4 having the same animation and 5-7 having the same animation.
A nice animation set up being:
Strike 5, Sweep 5, Strike 7, Sweep 7.

I noticed they already added an animation to the Spy ability "Snipe" When you come out of steath firing witha pistol you assume the classic "Han Solo" pistol pose on the initial shot. Its pretty cool.

I think the animations for Carbine firing are broken. Occasionally, I would find myself in the De Vinci pose at the start of a fight, if I had a Carbine equipped.
