Jedi CouncilAttention all experienced Jedi (and other interested people as well):
The Jedi Council is to be restarted within the chambers of the Jedi Enclave. Many people are needed. This is by no means a guild, in fact it is a open faction for anyone. There will be RP events and OOC events such as instance runs, help with collections, and opportunities to just hang out and chat. Rp events are a given, considering the idea, however this is by all means not only an RP faction. This is open to many members of many guilds to join in for pure enjoyment of the game.
I hope to be able to have many people join the ranks of this faction. If anyone is interested, please contact me. I am going to need help coordinating everything, considering that it's going to include a lot of planning and there are many established weekly events that I do not know of, such as base busts and other instance runs.
I am going to need to recruit people (the Council) to lead this group, so please if you are interested, contact me asap. Please remember that this Council, if you will, is going to be a large family. This will be a large group within the community and that is fine. I hope to have it known by most players old or new that we are a friendly faction in the game just having fun and enjoying the game.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this post. My in game name is Briannna, and you can contact me there as well as here. Once enough people have stated their interest, I'll post a date on which we can have an actual meeting ingame. This should be fun!
Yours Truly,
Bri

Lots of luck, Briannna.
My toons would not be involved, but you have their support when they can realistically give support.

When it comes to Jedi roleplaying this community has always been very strict, which is neither good nor bad, it is just a fact. Having been a small part in a once great Jedi council (I was not in the council, I was a padawan under master Safia's teaching) I can tell you that being a jedi and roleplaying a jedi is not an easy thing.
I could go on trying to remember how good the old times were, when we had an evil jedi master among us (*bow* Shensen DeBloodletter) and everybody knew it OOC but nobody ever took advantage of it in game. That is just one of the examples i could use to show you how good jedi roleplaying is.
The way I see it, the council formed by Shensen, Hashum, Safia, Jabe, Jart, Volcreal and the others was mainly a roleplaying council, and when i say that i really mean it, we only got together for roleplaying reasons. Sure we had our PvE and masters were heavily encouraged to help their padawans with their leveling up, quests, equipment, etc, etc, but i dont remember a single time I did an instance without roleplaying with saf about it.
So the way I see it its not that nobody is interested, its just that maybe you did not express it in a proper way that might interest people. The main idea i got from your message was basically a PvE kinda clan and some ocational roleplaying, and for some that might not be too appealing.
This is something that has been talked a lot about since the beginnings of time and nobody ever comes into consensus wether jedi should or should not be or remain hidden (I believe they should) and therefore many people have just become fed up with the uberness of a few small group of people that think that roleplaying a jedi is just waving your hand at someone and telling them what to do, or to pull out your flashlight and hack and slash your way through any problem without reprimands.
It is a good idea to have a jedi council, but to have it formed in a good way. So i would strongly suggest that you talk to those i mentioned before that were in the las council to ask them for ideas or advices on how to run such an important faction in the game and in the community. I will be more than glad to help you out too if you need it or want it.
Cheers!!!

Perhaps you should try approaching this IC instead, by trying to seek out other jedi in a IC sort of way, and foruming it IC. It could be enjoyable to do it this way. I dunno. SOunds like a sound idea when looking at the pixels.
Thigs to decide, how to identify other jedi IC without using OOC knowledge. Also how free flowing you want this to be, if you want it to be at all that is, but if you decide to do this IC, just let things happen, and see where it goes. Just dont let the Inquisitor know IC

All good points. Even though you can contact the other jedi through the forum you must have some kind of roleplaying reason for the council to be created. It cant be created spontaneusly out of nowhere, nor it can be the "I am your chieftain and you do as i say" kinda of council. There should be some kind of consensus along the way.
The holonet forum might be a great shot at it if you like to write short stories that could lead up to a roleplayed meeting in game with the other jedi. Some kind of event (or a trigger roleplayingly speaking) that can lead up to the point where you reach what you want to achieve, which is the creation of the council.
Anyways, as i said, get in touch with the people I mentioned (Jart is Iago btw) and im sure they will help you out with some ideas and some advies.
Cheers!!!

Try not to get too frustrated tho, things seem quite slow right now, it may take awhile to drum up any action.

Well, I told you I'd support this from the beginning and you still have my help if needed. I've been sick, and haven't been on in almost a week. There are several directions you can go with this. Just gotta figure out the right one. I'll see ya IG soon, when I'm feeling better.

Well, I could have been able to help this.... But my jedi died ( R.I.P. teh Oniss XD) If I can help support it through my other toons I will try though. I was in that council along side Tsarg and I thought it was quite enjoyable.

well the whole purpose i was trying to make this was for the community of gorath and not just for one part of the game or a few guilds. i wanted it to be something quite large the entire server could enjoy where we can plan anything we like between a large amount of people. i know i have to start small but thats what im trying to do between the communitys i have access to atm.

Well, thats my advice, start small and youll get to bigger goals. Before you know it you will be having lots of new students coming to the academy, however there is always a question that comes to my mind when this issues are brought up ..... what is better ...... quantity or quality??
Tricky question huh??
Cheer!!!

I of course love the idea of Jedi RP more than anything else. I can appeciate the scope of what you want to accomplish and certainly don't want to discourage you.
All I will say is to be very clear in your purpose and goals. Even so, to get everyone together on the scale you're talking about is challenging for several reasons. Here are a few:
Some will want to PvP
Some will want to PvE
Many have very different views on Jedi RP
So you have the PvPers that think RPers are dorks. You have the PvEers who are usually more tolerant. Then you have RPers of various experience and methodology. Basically it is a whole lot of drama waiting to happen.
Our councill was small and manageable with people all willing to learn from eachother when it came to RP and we had our bumps as well.
As I said, I don't want to discourage you from following your dream, but be prepared - it will certainly test your limits.

It sounds interesting enough but I don't know how much I can deal with asshats. I am generally an angry person, angry about nothing. I do not need the assistance of a 733T speaker telling me my pvp skills suck I know that already.

I've met many more PvPers that I respect than RPers that I respect.
Perhaps they all left with the NGE (I've been out of the PvP game since then), but from my experience, PvPers are generally much more welcoming and much less arrogant than RPers - they are also much more laid back.

I must admit my life has been tainted on my opinion on PvPers from WoW. I have not pvped in SWG on an official scale in a while.
