I don't want to plan for it, buuuut...SWG may be in it's final days, as a few others may have said.
I hope this is the biggest lie since the cake, but it may not be.
As such, I have 2 suggestions for the GC community...
That D&D MMORPG, OR...
The SWG Emu, if it ever comes out.
...
...
...
Like I said, I hope SWG remains up for a long time.

Poll is fixed...
SWG will only end when people end it, as it looks, its starting already. Not being down on the game, but its time for SWG2.

Three years is a long time, but I doubt it'll end. MMO's usually don't just stop. Planetside is still going, and it has a following MUCH smaller than SWG. Even if SWG2 were to come out, I wouldn't expect to see the plug pulled on SWG.
As much as publishers might like us to believe that it requires hundreds of thousands of people sending in $15 dollars a month to keep the servers running, that's far from the truth.

I agree, and I didn't mean pull the plug and make SWG2, I just mean, its time for SWG2, updated graphics and such. Conan is looking quite pretty right now, would love a pretty world like that for SWG.

It won't end soon. Not until LA/SOE yank the plug which probably won't be for a long time.
That isn't to say most of the people around won't stop playing at some point, etc, etc. But it'll still be there.
At this point I had high hopes for the SWGemu until I realized it'll never fly like a real Dev Supported mmorpg. It was wishful thinking at best. But we often like to play with What Ifs...

Almost forgot...
As far as picking a new game for the community it isn't as simple as saying Let's play "x" game now. Also a matter of picking a mutual server and getting everyone to agree to switching. As such I don't think you'll see an instant migration of the community to another game just yet; even for the forum lurkers we haven't seen posting in quite some time.
But, I'd look at newer games rather than older ones like DDO for the next big community game myself.

DEW! STOP COMPARING ME TO ADAK! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO HE IS!!!

I was just saying, it's in case SOE pulls the plug without too much notice. I wouldn't mind a graphics update, like the Source Engine, though.

Meh probably doesn't realize that every time he makes a new poll, he has to pay Adak a royalty fee.
Though one would think that the threat of burning one's house down would be enough of a deterrent.

Oh, I have some mega protection... other wise known as, 'force-you-to-watch-the teletubbies-for-three-days-straight' . NO arsonist problem HERE!
...but, if that doesn't work, you could meet the end of my Ruger 10/22 Carbine...

You mean you wouldn't be dead if a significant portion of your brain matter was splattered on the wall behind you?

UO is still running.
I'm pretty sure its the longest running MMO of all time going on its 10 year or more.
I doubt SWG will simply die.

You will see server merges and such before SWG gets anywhere near pulling the plug.
