Ghostbusters back in Action? If you've read the most recent issue of Game Informer then you know Sierra Studios is/was set to release Ghostbusters The Video Game.
Google it. Youtube it. And you'll find very many different angles on it.
Who You Gonna Call?
The above clicky is the official site.
Now my personal hopes are it'll still be released in 2009. But there seem to have been development issues along the way. The title was actually suppose to have been what Ghostbusters 3 would've been if they had been able to get the movie made from what I can tell.
Absent from the voice acting in game will be Rick Morranis who copped out with a he really didn't need to do it plea. Most of the rest of the cast is back in action in voice though.
However, there is debate as to if this project got canned at the last minute. I stopped by a GameStop that told me it had. But I've been jerked around by GameStop before. Many other game sites have a release date up for 2009 now so it's a toss up. But if you read the Game Informer Issue 186 it does look like this one was nearly ready to go to stores on multiple platforms.
Guess we'll just have to cross the streams this one finishes development.

Looks pretty cool. Originally slated for a halloween release date, everything I can find now seems to point to sometime in Q1 2009.
Warhammer and the Litch King should keep me busy until then.

Aye, I think Fallout 3 and Fracture should be out now as well. Of course I don't have any of the new console systems so probably won't try those out until the next trip down to Florida.
I'm really hoping the Ghostbusters game does get finished though. Hate it when those Gamestop employees say crap they can't really confirm. ::chuckles::
Till then it'll be Warhammer, WoW, and SWG bouncing for me still. Really looking forward to Hoth and may pop on for this Halloween festival thing the new Producer jockeyed to get put in game. Guess they listened to a few of us saying it needed more "Seasonal" content. They still haven't got it all quite right though. Excessive grind, Unique items, or other un-fun stuff. But, it's SWG... we're use to it by now.
Have a new rig kind of myself so I should be able to really try out Warhammer if I can just get everything working. One big problem I have is I don't exactly have the correct Power Source for the new Mother Board and the System Bios says it won't support NFTS formatting so that means I've got to use a new HD or reformat and lose most of my stuff on the current HD to get over that hurtle. Seems like the new Motherboard uses a lot of Sata plug ins too so I wasn't quiet prepared to lose the extra IDE slot I've got on my old one.

Pretty much just warhammer and SWG bouncing for me atm. I've put WoW away for the time being. Might check out Lich King, but I'm not so sure right now. I'm having a hard time getting into any MMO right now, so I've been switching between WH and SWG as boredom dictates.

Hard getting into any one thing for myself as well. Though I think a lot of it is I'm still waiting for STO. That'll probably be my next big attempt at getting back into mmo Rping.
I'm still boggled by the lack of multi-player crews at launch though. For me that remains a no brainer to put into something as massive as a multi-player game. Although the ability to invite people onto your ship seems to allow for the RPing of a crew. But the Captain of said ship will be overworked responding to everything.
Ensign Ricky fires phasers.
Captain fires the phasers.
"Direct hit, Sir!"
Cause I've got a feeling until they develop actual multi-player mechanics for individual ships that's how it'll go down for those of us wanting that feature when it launches.

Yeah that does stink. I'm not a big ST fan, but I probably would've tried it out if it had multiplayer ship control capability. I just can't see paying for another game in which I do nothing but RP - already have SWG for that lol.

June 19th, 2009. Just thought I'd pop in for an update. Really looking forward to this one.

Although I'm still not happy with Gamestop they do have this available for Pre-Order now with some "goodies" if you do it. It basically looks to be t-shirts to me though it doesn't always say what it is across the different platforms.
*edit*
They made a correction. The PS2 is now correctly labeled as $19.99 and the PC is $29.99. Was wondering why that seemed like a helluva deal there.

Rick Moranis didn't want to do this because he doesn't want to do anything anymore (according to him). He has stated that he is retired and that is why he wouldn't do it. Personally I don't blame him. If he is happy with his situation then he doesn't need to whore himself out for a few bucks for a videogame. This franchise doesn't have a good history with games and I will not be an early adopter.

Well, I can officially say that it was a great game. Really short, but really great. I picked it up the day it launched and haven't stopped playing it. I've loved it.
And it's got some great online multi-player too.

Good to hear. I postponed getting it mainly because I'd heard it had some quirky difficulty points in the game. I'm more interested in the PC version though so multi-player isn't as important to me.

I haven't noticed anything strange with the difficulty... I haven't really noticed any bugs at all, except for some blocky, pixelized textures on some objects every-so-often. But I got the PS3 version and haven't really played any of the others... Though I want to get the Wii one now, too.
The PC one is half the price of the PS3/360 versions for some reason...

Probably because of the lack of multi-player platforming.
As far as the difficulty some reviews were saying you'd have an "easy" ghost then a possible "crazy hard" ghost followed by "easy" again. Spurts rather than a gradual build up to an End Boss was the way the reviews I've read were putting it.

I didn't really notice it... But I was too busy blasting things to care anyway.
