The Kiva opened the flimsy and read the report on the intercepted transmission. She folded it carefully, and smiled at the large skull on the floor.

Finally we had gotten clearance to the system, had I know that there was that much rebel activity in Lok space I would have flown in myself and carved a few more notches in my hull.

I was dissapointed to learn that only a partial deployment had taken place, still it was more than I had previously had last time I was on Lok.

As the ramp of the shuttle slowly lowered, the humidity had hit me like a wall. I had tried to prepare myself for the climate change, but it seem Lok was intent on making it as difficult as possible.

It brought a small smile to my face as I stepped down the ramp to see the glistening white of a couple hundred Stormtroopers, the hum of AT-AT drives in the background, and the clunking of AT-STs taking postions around the landing area. Shuttles still dropping troops as I landed, and the sound of distant blaster fire as Tie's cleared the skies overhead.

Say what you want about the Empire, but we know how to make an entrance.

As I walked out to the front of the Angel, I notced a few familiar faces. Esharra, of course was there, although something seemed off with her. The inquisitor had made an appearence, although that is a double edge sword, it isn't likely that he was just there for my arrival. And of course, the Kiva was there to greet me as well, but again, as with Esharra, there was something just off with her as well. Although the sight of a couple hundred troops may have caused a little stress, it always seems to with non military personnel.

Getting caught up on the latest news in Nocturnus would take some time, and it seemed there was good reason for me to be re-stationed here, least this time, I had some might behind me.

The lavender Kiva viewed the ranks of soldiers with some satisfaction. With this many here, she could count on her people surviving the night's activities. How thoughtful of the Empire to strip so many "non-essential" personnel from the lesser smuggling points.

On the other hand, she wasn't so pleased to see the High Inquisitor on hand for the welcoming ceremonies. Bad luck that he had to re-assigned back into this sector. He seemed to be the only Imperial who remained suspicious of a "peaceful" religious group, but she couldn't subvert all her goals to satisfy his mandate.

The Kiva wondered if the High Inquisitor was behind the return of Col. Bacca. Temple had managed to keep the local violence down, excepting that unforeseen massacre at the mercenary guild hall. Of course, the attack on Esharra had occurred on Tattooine, as had so many others that the Kiva now knew were linked, and that is this sector. But, why would they garrison the Colonel here? Had Temple been too effective in keeping the peace and, thus, Nocturnus was now under some warped suspicion?

Or was this some move against Nym, half a planet away?

"I need more data, as usual," she muttered to herself.

"What do you mean a few more days!" I screamed into the comm.

"Sorry Sir," the trooper on the other end stuttered "But there is high rebel traffic in the zone that the transports need move thru, fighter support is down due to needs in other sectors."

"Fine, Bacca out!"

It is bad enough I had to come back to this dust bowl, given lofty goals to nulify targets in this sector, but they cant even get the troops I was promised to me, sure I have more than I had previously, but not near enough to disrupt the criminal activities Nym is involved in, nor move into the cities indicated as supporting these activities.

At least this gives me time to get back in touch with the people in this city, I have elected to hold off on taking command of Nocturnus for another month, my temp replacement has been doing ok, and I need to concentrate on drawing up plans for our movements in the next few months.

I will need to start observing some of the surrounding cities, I will start with Fort Nova, sources say they have strong ties to Nym, we will see what they are up to.
