(Being an account of mass Imperial operations led by Mosuger during the CU)
Colonel Mosuger, known by his troops as just Colonel Mo sifted through the seemingly endless pile of reports stacked upon his desk. Petitions from loyal subjects of the Empire seeking mediation in this trivial problem or that, did nothing to improve his mood. Did they really think he had time for this when the galaxy was in jeopardy of falling into total chaos? Aside from the petitions and plans, there were also new recruits to get, budgets to plan, training to be done and bounties to be collected. It seemed odd to some that he would choose to hunt bounties given his situation, but the Emperor couldn't spare near enough to fund this venture totally. How many months ago now had he been summoned to the Emperor and given this special assignment? A daunting assignment it was. Daunting in the mere scope of it, but he felt proud to be a part of it.
The Empire had grown weak from the once mighty superpower it had been. The other officers and even some of the regional governors were too content just to fight meaningless skirmishes with ragtag forces scattered about. They had all lost sight of the goal, the vision. Colonel Mo had not. He had sent a transmission directly to Lord Vader expressing his views. A dangerous thing to as Vader's mood and motives are most times unreadable, but Vader had passed the information on to the Emperor who had noticed the same trend.
Everything happened so fast after that. He was summoned to see the Emperor in person " a rarity in itself, and then given special command of his own operations. He basically had free reign, but he knew too many mistakes would bring a visit from Lord Vader or even worse a not-so-cordial summons back to the Emperor. Luckily he was not one to rush into anything lightly.
His plans were proceeding as expected. Operation sandstorm was a success. Some fifteen rebel outposts on Tatooine were destroyed in a mere 2 day campaign. His forces had been swift and efficient. The credits he had paid for the locations of the outposts were credits well spent. He wanted to finish off the last of the rebel remnant there, but there were so many fires to put out. He decided he would have to leave Tatooine for the time being. The bulk of the rebel forces were thinned and the Lambda shuttles would keep bringing in fresh troops to patrol the outlying areas.
Looking through notes from his last meeting he smiled as his eyes passed over the names of the other officers that had joined his campaign. This was the largest joint effort to regain control of the galaxy attempted in a long time. He genuinely liked the other Colonels that had brought there forces into the mix to help. He slowly put the papers back in their piles, stood and stretched his arms above his head barely stifling a yawn.
Picking up another smaller letter, he made his way to his sleeping chamber. He was too tired to get undressed so he laid on his back with an arm behind his head atop the bedding. The small letter he had brought with him sat on his stomach while his other hand fumbled into his pocket and produced the small holoprojector. It chirped before settling into a low hum as it projected a full 3D view of Chasity. He smiled looking at her flawless features and the way she held her lightsaber. She was a tough woman during battle, but all femininity otherwise. He worried about her often even though he knew she could take care of herself. Every man has a weakness and he knew this was his, but this was a weakness he certainly didn't mind. He could barely keep his eyes open, so he turned the holopic off and put it back in his pocket. Slowly unfolding the letter in front of him he looked it over.
"A request for assistance from Viceroy Odantis on Talus...this can not be good'. Mosuger thought. "Talus is one of the most important moons we control, the garrison there along with the Viceroy's forces are all that are keeping the rebels in check. If he is requesting help then the situation must be worse than I thought.'
He quickly punched a code into his comm and shortly after another voice answered.
"Yes?"
"This is Mo. I need the same package as before for a new target."
"Target?" came the reply.
"Talus. I need this to be thorough and quick. I will double your fee if it is to my liking."
There was a short pause of static before the same voice crackled back over the comm.
"We will notify you once the package is ready for delivery along with a contact to make the drop." The comm switched off. They weren't very personable, but they got the job done.
Numbly switching his comm on again he punched in the Viceroy's number and sent a text message that simply said "Fortify your positions. Contact me if anything changes. We are coming."
Letting his hand fall to his side, he fell asleep.

"At last." Mosuger mumbled with a satisfied grin as he looked at the code on his Holomail. It was the private channel his contacts used.
With a light chirp the image flickered onto the small screen.
'The information you requested is now ready for pickup. We apologize for the delay. We ran into some unforseen complications that had to be dealt with. I assure you as always, the information is valid and uncorrupted. It will be wired to you as soon as we receive the usual payment.'
Switching off the vid screen, he punched in the codes to access his account and wired the requested funds. His hands shook a little as he keyed in the amount and sent it to his information broker. He always got a little shaken with the rush of excitement that came with knowing he would be going to battle again soon.
Some men tired of battle as they aged, preferring mediation and diplomacy, but Colonel Mo had not lost his lust for battle. It was a rush like no other riding into battle with men who believed in a cause; a higher purpose they were willing to die for.
Striding back to his desk, he began preparing orders and a battle strategy. Soon another planet would be firmly under the Emperor's thumb.
In spite of himself he laughed. They would never know what hit them. _________________ Forum guarded by Blast Cannons three days a week. Guess which days.
