Your Wiki link is very accurate. However, make sure you realize the difference between a fan made site and an official site for that second link of yours. While I am sure you will see the Star Trek Gamers probably play this Star Trek Online game; Bethesda Softworks and the Star Trek Gamers likely have no official bearing on what a company like Perpetual Entertainment paired with CBS/Paramount Television will be doing with their game.
Most source material is copyright protected to the original franchise. This is why you might see old table top companies like West End Games and Ice Crown Enterprises still in existence after legal battles to stay afloat but do not retain the right to re-publish some of their old material again. Middle Earth the Roleplaying Game and my own franchise nod to Star Wars the Roleplaying Game come to mind. Different companies have red-tape ownership now. Just thought you might like that little bit of copyright enlightenment.
You think it is bad on a gaming and publishing end; you should see it in Hollywood. _________________
