Where in the real life world do you live? I don’t know about the “real” world, but if you mean the “world” like most people use that term, then I live in Tainan City, Taiwan

What type of work do you do? I’m an English teacher/babysitter (I think Rinna will know what I mean)

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing MMO’s? You mean there are other things to do besides play MMO’s? Oh, I guess you mean other video games. Yes, I enjoy those too. Well, I guess I also like to watch movies. Going out with my dog is also nice. (By dog I mean a real dog, not the way you kids use it.)

How long have you played MMO’s? 3 and half years

How long is your typical gaming session? A couple hours

What does a typical gaming day consist of for you? I usually try to find somebody to flirt with, but that doesn’t usually go to well. After that, I just look at all the things I want to do, and I decide which one I fancy that day, and then I try to do it. Even after all this time in SWG, I’ve still got lots of badges to get, and lots of cool stuff I want for my house, so I’m never really bored. Of course I’ll also roleplay if I can, but, being in Taiwan, most of the major roleplaying is done before I can log in.

II. Your Main Character

What is your highest character level in your game of choice? When I log in, 90, after I put on my modded armor, get ent buffs, doc buffs, gcw buffs, stims, and food, 150.

How did you choose your main character's name? First name came from the random name generator, and it was short, so, cool. Family name I choose myself. I wanted something that sounded like it came from Star Wars.

What race and profession is your main character? Human Ranger/Creature Handler/Spy

What do you like the most about the profession you have chosen for your main character? The chics. They dig it. “Sunrunner, Adak Sunrunner.” “Wanna ride on my dewback?”

What faction is your main character? Rebel Terrorist formally in the employment of CorSec

III. Most/Least Favorites in SWG

What is your favorite player-owned ship? Why? The yacht is pretty cool, it’s a great place for a party. But so many people have one I guess it’s not so special.

What is your favorite ground vehicle? Why? Uh, my dewback, cause she’s cool.

What is your favorite expansion? Why? Well, can’t say that I have a favorite. JTL was cool cause it brought in space, but aside from leveling one of the pilot professions or a quest, I find it kinda boring. It doesn’t really tie in very well with the ground game overall. ROTW had a couple cool quests I guess, and it did integrate space pretty well, but something about it just doesn’t feel right. I can’t comment on ToOW, because I haven’t really started it yet.

What is your favorite planet? Why? Pluto. I just feel bad that all the “scientists” say it’s not a planet anymore. That little guy has been out there on the front lines of our solar system for so long, taking it for the team, and then we go and insult it by calling it a dwarf. What is this, third grade??

Who is your favorite NPC? Why? All of the shuttle droids. Back in the day of the 10 minute wait, those guys took some serious abuse. “Crap, I just missed the shuttle. /slap Shuttle Droid” But through it all, rain or shine, they’re still there.

Which expansion do you like the least? Why? Publish 9, go back into hiding!

Which planet do you like the least? Why? DANTOOINE, it’s infested with BUGS!

What was your favorite Star Wars movie? Why? I know I’m supposed to say Empire, but I have to say ROTJ was my favorite. It was the first one I saw, and it’s got my two all-time favorite characters, Wicket and Chewbacca.

Who was your favorite character? Why? Oops, ok, I can’t really decide. Chewbacca, because he made it cool to be a big tall hairy dude, and Wicket, because he’s just so cute. But you don’t really know Wicket until you’ve seen the two Ewok movies, which I happen to own on DVD. Wicket learns to speak Basic and he is soooooooooo cute!

Who was your least favorite character? Why? Wow, that’s a tough one. I feel like I’ll be insulting George if I give an answer. But, I guess, if I have to pick one I personally wouldn’t like to meet, I’d have to say that guy in the cantina in Episode IV. The guy who was like, “I have the death sentence on 12 systems!” That guy just looked freaky! I mean, his eye was all weird and stuff. I would be like, “Get off me dude!”.

What are the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? Not totally sure, but I think it was the 7 million I spent on an HK-47 rifle.

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so, what is it and why do you keep it? Well, I could have said the pets in my data pad, but it looks like they’ll be able to come back in Chapter 6, so I will be able to use them again.

Describe your favorite period of Star Wars: Galaxies (Pre-CU, CU, NGE, etc.) and what you liked the most about it. I’d like them to do another upgrade, where they take the good parts from all three of these, and combine them together, and get rid of all the other junk. I’d like to see the openness, interdependency, and danger of the Pre-CU, and get rid of the insane buff system and armor. From the CU, I guess group hunting was still popular back then, but get rid of battles that lasted an hour, I’ve got things to do, and please, please, dump player creature levels! From the NGE, thank goodness for removing the brawler tree. I know A LOT of people liked it, but come on, this is Star Wars. Combat is quicker now too, so that’s cool. I guess I really shouldn’t get going on the things they should dump from the NGE.

IV. Roleplay and MMO’s

What game brought you to Role Playing (RP)? SWG

Have you played tabletop RP games before moving to MMO’s? If so, which ones? Nope

What other MMO’s have you played? EVE, Final Fantasy XI, WOW

What do you get out of playing your MMO of choice? Playing a game with other people around is cool. Escaping into the Star Wars galaxy is nice, I sometimes wish it felt more like the Star Wars galaxy, but this is the best we can do right now, so here I am. It’s also cool when you get that item you’ve been working for a while, to be able to share your joy with other people. It’s not quite the same in single-player games.

How did you get into Roleplaying? Even before I was an Roleplayer, I still thought about all the decisions I made with my character. Adak joined with this faction for a reason, and he wouldn’t do some quest because it went against his character. Then, one day, I found that there were actually other people out there who did that too. So, here I am.

How would you “sell” roleplaying to someone that has never tried it before? What are the benefits? I’d tell them about all the great cyber sex and stuff, so they’d join the community. By the time they found out that wasn’t true, they’d already be hooked on roleplaying and wouldn’t care about the lack of cyber sex.

What was your favorite event or story arc? When Vanz used his Force Mind Trick on me and exposed my fragile brain cells, that was fun, and it’s lead to some other fun RP in the wee hours of the morning.

How long have you been an RP’er? Since I was 5 and got my first Star Wars action figures.

What do you like best about RP’ing? Didn’t I already answer this? Well, it’s fun pretending to be someone I’m not, and even more fun to do it in Star Wars.

What type of RP ‘role’ do you prefer portraying with your character? I guess Adak is a good guy, if by good guy you mean he doesn’t like to kill kittens. But I never really thought of Adak as being a good guy. He tries to take care of the people/animals he cares about, probably the same as any other person would, but he’s not gonna stick his neck out for those outside that close circle.

What kind of RP story arc would you most like to be a part of? I want my death to be memorable.

What would you like to see more of when doing RP? I would like to see more chics treating me like the sex icon that I am.

Which other community member do you like to RP with the most? Why? Well, I’m gonna cheat and say a couple people. Xyryn, because she’s so deep and thoughtful, I’m often left scratching my head, but it’s nice to finally meet someone who is my intellectual equal. Iago, well, the intellectual bus left him long ago, but he’s really funny and you know something crazy is gonna go down when he’s around. And really, all the late-nighters on Noct chat are great, but I guess those are the two I see the most.

Do you have any ideas for future RP story arcs that you would share? How about a week where the Galactic Tag Championships are held on Lok, and Nocturnus fields a team for it.

Describe your best RP experience from playing Star Wars: Galaxies. Now I know I already answered this one.

If you could give a new player one bit of advice based on your game experiences, what would it be? First off, I’d tell them if they really wanna be rich in the future, they should give all their credits to me, and I will invest it wisely for them. After that doesn’t work, I’ll tell them not to take this all too seriously, it’s just a game. Just keep having fun. If it stops being fun, it’s time to take a break. Then come back when you’re ready to have some more fun. And remember, if you want to find out how the rest of the community feels about an issue, that’s what the “poll” button is for!
