| Isleh wrote: | I. The Basics
Real life first name:
Amber is the nickname my friends use.
GC Forum handle:
Isleh
Main Character name:
Isleh-lin Mott
Secondary/other Character name(s):
Bice Juno and Rhian Cursum
Guild:
Temple of the Goddess <TEMPL>
Where in the real life world do you live?
Washington DC. I would be more accurate to say I live in the traffic around DC at this moment in my life
What type of work do you do?
I'm a Production Assistant/Office Manager and any other hat they toss me during the week.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing Star Wars: Galaxies?
I draw sometimes. Mess around in Photoshop. I have some other graphic programs that I play with. Ocassionally, creative writing. Sometimes I'll pack a backpack and hit the trails on Skyline Drive in the Appachalian Mountains.
How long have you played Star Wars: Galaxies?
I started playing a week after launch. Sooooo.... however long that is.
How long is your typical gaming session when playing Star Wars: Galaxies?
Mostly around 2 hours a night.
What does a typical Star Wars: Galaxies day consist of for you?
If I'm not being hunted because of something I did in my RP , It's usually instances. Yep, I have been trained well by Batak
II. Your Main Character
What is your highest character level in Star Wars: Galaxies?
Isleh and Bice are both CL90.
How did you choose your main character's name?
LOL, ever seen Troops? There is a character named Officer Daemond Mott. He's the officer that destroys the Lars homestead and would eventually be used the the creation of Isleh's history. You see, Officer Daemond Mott is Isleh's father. I had just seen that, and faced with the choice of a last name, why not? Isleh was created by starting with with the syllable "Is" and trying following syllables. "Isleh Mott" didn't flow well when saying the name to me, so the "lin" was added.
What race and profession is your main character?
Isleh is human (not Zabrak! you'll understand when you see her) and is a Smuggler currently.
What do you like the most about the profession you have chosen for your main character?
Isleh always was on the shady side of the "good guys". So I have tried Spy, Bounty Hunter and Smuggler.
What faction is your main character?
The shady side of the Alliance.
III. Most/Least Favorites
What is your favorite player-owned ship? Why?
The Vaksai. It's the fastest ships for a Smuggler Alliance pilot and a fast ship for a smuggler is a necessity.
What is your favorite ground vehicle? Why?
The BARC. It goes well with the leather pants.
What is your favorite expansion? Why?
I would have to say Jump to Lightspeed. The others added cool stuff, but Jump to Lightspeed added something I couldn't imagine the game without.
What is your favorite planet? Why?
Tatooine. I can go there and be immersed the most there.
Who is your favorite npc? Why?
I really can't name a favorite, none leap out at me while I write this, but I can name my least favorite: The Unhappy Tourist on Mustafar.
What was your favorite Star Wars movie? Why?
I would have to say Empire Strikes Back. It develops the main characters the most. Here we see the start of the Han and Leia relationship, Luke starting on his path of being a Jedi. There are some of the most memorable scenes.
Who was your favorite character? Why?
Han Solo. Leia comes in close second. Why them? Because I think those are the the most witty characters.
Who was your least favorite character? Why?
Chewbacca, maybe R2-D2 too. Never understand a thing they said. Just kidding actually. For not saying anything intelligible, thoes two said an awful lot.
What are the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
About 9 million for a suit of primus layered RIS.
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so, what is it and why do you keep it?
Oh my, that would be a long list. Clothes from Kreetles gigs, weapons from professions long gone, pets that sit in my datapad.
Describe your favorite period of Star Wars: Galaxies (Pre-CU, CU, NGE, etc.) and what you liked the most about it.
My favorite period of Star Wars: Galaxies is now. There are the good moments with the bad. There are times that I wish I could go back to, there are times I wish to forget. But everything that has come before has built up to this point and you can take what you have and continue to move forward or you can stagnate. Just remember that in the end, the choice is your's and always will be yours to make.
IV. Roleplay and MMO’s
What game brought you to Role Playing (RP)?
This very game, Star Wars: Galaxies.
What other MMOs have you played?
I played Ever Quest for a while with a former boyfriend. It never really truly caught my interest. There is an element in Star Wars: Galaxies that wasn't in Ever Quest, or maybe vice-versa. Anyway, whatever it was or wasn't, I got hooked.
What do you get out of playing Star Wars: Galaxies?
Where else can I get to be Lady I one day and the next, a hunted criminal on the run?
How did you get into Roleplaying? How long have you been an RP’er?
I got pulled into RP by a real life friend, Weyune, a few months after launch. I've been addicted ever since. Star Wars: Galaxies was a gift from a friend who stopped playing after the first week and I, being homebound at the time, was dying for something to do. I was just doing the same thing I did when I played Ever Quest and actually, was getting bored. Weyune introduced me the RP crowd.
What was your favorite event or story arc? Describe your best RP experience from playing Star Wars: Galaxies?
It is the First Replicant Wars run by Jabe Adaks. There was character interactions and dialog that was pretty intense. It inspired me to write up a scene played out between me and Batak that got me several PM's that simply said "wow". What amazed me was that the scene was played out in tells between Batak and I as sort of a dream sequence. I don't even think we were even on the same planet.
What do you like best about RP’ing? How would you “sell” roleplaying to someone that has never tried it before? What are the benefits?
There are things I was able to do that I could never have done if I limited myself to just what is presented in the game. RP can be the expansion that you've always dreamed of. I have been on quests that you will never be able to buy in an expansion. I have had far more intelligent answers and comments than any dialog box can offer. I have been challenged far more because, if I make the wrong choice, the answer isn't as simple as "Delete the quest and do it over again".
What type of RP ‘role’ do you prefer portraying with your character? What kind of RP story arc would you most like to be a part of?
I like portraying a characters at odds with the authorities so I seem to fall mostly into the role of the person on the run.
What would you like to see more of when doing RP?
I have been exposed to the German RP community on Gorath and I am amazed at how they never seem to fall out of character. It's like their Star Warsy is always on. It does alot to help other players immersion.
If you could give a new player one bit of advice based on your game experiences, what would it be?
Your goal should be to have fun when you RP. I am not a PvPer, but I have had it explained to me by friends that some of their best PvP experiences were with their friends and when they were at odds with them. This is true in RP as well. |
