I. The Basics

Where in the real life world do you live? Calgary Alberta, Canada

What type of work do you do? I work in the recycling industry. Hopefully in the future you all will hear about Good Hands... Currently we are very excited to be working on a program to recycle Styrofoam.

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing MMO’s? I am strong political activist in my spare time. I pursuit human rights, and a greener environment. Currently most of my dedication is towards the Tar Sands in Alberta... Considered one of the worlds most tragic environmental situations.

How long have you played MMO’s? Since the age of 13, when Ultima Online came out.

What is the main MMO you play? SWG is the only MMO I play.

How long is your typical gaming session? Oh, depends on the day... Usually a couple hours or more.

What does a typical gaming day consist of for you? Logging in, chatting with Iago about random stuff, bugging whoever I can for random RP, and working on collections.

II. Your Main Character

What is your highest character level in your game of choice? 90.

How did you choose your main character's name? Rebecca was named like Luke. Just a generic first name and a planned last name. Taash was the name of my UO character.

What race and profession is your main character? Rebecca is a human bounty hunter. Though she's spent time as a doctor and a smuggler.

What do you like the most about the profession you have chosen for your main character? I enjoy hunting and randomly RPing with bounty missions from the terminals. I like to stalk my prey, and usually play with it a bit.

What faction is your main character? Rebel.

III. Most/Least Favorites in SWG

What is your favorite player-owned ship? Why? I like the Y8, because of the roominess, and the big bay windows.

What is your favorite ground vehicle? Why? I've always thought the BARCs were very neat looking.

What is your favorite expansion? Why? Jump to lightspeed. I'd been waiting for an online Star Wars space game since Tie Fighter, and X-wing... Old classics some people might not remember.

What is your favorite planet? Why? Lok. Because of Nocturnus.

Who is your favorite NPC? Why? Probably Jabba. I've thought Jabba was cool since I was a little boy. Something about an a-sexual blob that has a thing for humanoids is just very very... neat.

Which expansion do you like the least? Why? I thought Mustafar was ugly... I hated the way it looked, almost to the point where I avoided it for the most part.

Which planet do you like the least? Why? Mustafar... ugliness.

What was your favorite Star Wars movie? Why? Return of the Jedi. Everything about that movie I loved... The big scary Rancor, the Sarlaac pit, Luke using his force powers, Ewoks, the space battle over Endor, Jabba... It all just was so amazing when I was a kid.

Who was your favorite character? Why? R2. I always felt like I could tell what he was saying... Like the pitch of his beeping almost made a sort of sense. In general I find his noise making very amusing through most of the movies. Chewbacca was definatley a close second.

Who was your least favorite character? Why? Probably Lando. I just don't like him.

What are the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? 19 million for a decoration. Jedi Artifact for Warrbaccas home. I know... I know!

Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so, what is it and why do you keep it? I have a ton of items I keep around purely for nostalgic reasons. Feel free to ask me for a tour of any of my decorated buildings or ships.

Describe your favorite period of Star Wars: Galaxies (Pre-CU, CU, NGE, etc.) and what you liked the most about it. My favourite time was pre-cu... Right when Rebecca started becoming force sensitive. I had balanced her template to be a swordsman bounty hunter... and Kashyyyk had just been released. Being the only individual on Gorath luckily enough to get an Executor Sith Sword from Necrosis before the GMs sealed him off from the world for a few months... I was taking down 300-800k bounties on jedi on a regular basis. It was a hoot, and I made a fortune.

IV. Roleplay and MMO’s

What game brought you to Role Playing (RP)? When I was 14 I discovered the roleplaying community of Skara Brae on the Pacific server in UO. You can google Skara Brae Pacific and see all the old news still up.

Have you played tabletop RP games before moving to MMO’s? If so, which ones? I've played a ton of D&D, mostly as the DM. Our best campaign lasted 3 years, and the characters got up to level 18.

What other MMO’s have you played? UO, Everquest, Asherons Call, WWIIOnline.

What do you get out of playing your MMO of choice? I love to generate storyline, and work on character development. Mostly that is what I play for. To model my characters and build their stories.

How did you get into Roleplaying? I suppose I got into it on yahoo chatrooms before UO.

How would you “sell” roleplaying to someone that has never tried it before? What are the benefits? Escape from reality! lol. A creative outlet.

What was your favorite event or story arc? My story arcs never end... But when I first started getting involved with this community... and when Jabe was doing the Replicant thing... Rebecca came into the community as a private assistant... It wasn't too long after that that most people in Nocturnus had some sort of contract with her. Those were good times.

How long have you been an RP’er? Since I was 12. Maybe younger... I used to play alot of RPGs on nintendo when I was a kid.

What do you like best about RP’ing? Being able to play someone completely different from myself... But also including bits and pieces of my true self into the characters for dramatic effect.

What type of RP ‘role’ do you prefer portraying with your character? Depends which character I am playing. Rebecca likes to come off as a vigilante. Warrbacca likes to come off as knowledgeable. Jerah is my free lovin fun guy.

What kind of RP story arc would you most like to be a part of? I'll be a part of anything. I like the force stuff, the spice stuff, the war stuff. You name it, I'm down. Right now I'm trying to put Rebecca into the role of community bad guy... It's a slow process, but I see it heading in the right direction.

What would you like to see more of when doing RP? More open-ended storylines. Less planning... more spontaneity.

Which other community member do you like to RP with the most? Why? Oh god... there are so many. Actually, I don't even know if I can answer this question. I used to be able to say without a doubt, Dwilah, or Ekade...
I love to tick off Nyvveck in character.
Liisa inspires me on a regular basis.
Iago makes me laugh my butt off.
KS always gives me insight.
And the Kreetles in general, are always a good time.
And recently... NRC has given me a home, and a new community of players to work with.

Do you have any ideas for future RP story arcs that you would share? Haha. Do I ever. But I prefer to do my RPing in game, and my revealing in game as well.

Describe your best RP experience from playing Star Wars: Galaxies?
Last night me and Solmano and Briannna randomly started doing a bunch of missions ICly and slowly. We focused on the immersion, instead of rushing to get it done. It was one of the best most recent RP experiences I have had.

If you could give a new player one bit of advice based on your game experiences, what would it be? Save old items. My fortune has come mostly from collecting stuff and holding onto it until it gained a ridiculous amount of value. Oh, and find a good community that you care about, and that cares about you. Without that, it's very difficult to enjoy an MMO.
