[Note: If there is a better forum to post this, could one of the mods/admins please make sure it gets in the right place.]
Last night instead of the usual Schola, we held a meeting to discuss some of the issues that have come up in the current story arc. Representatives from each of the guilds involved as well as a number of other interested people attended. The meeting took place in the Nocturnus City Hall. I had the honor and pleasure of serving as moderator.
A complete log of the meeting will be posted.
Quick Summary of Topic's Discussed and Decisions Reached:
Topic: Involving People Outside the Immersion War Guilds
How to handle people involved in the current story arc who are not in one of the immersion war guilds?
Decision: They are to issue a /duel command to the other parties involved prior to engaging in RP.
Note: Zyre has offered to create a "placeholder" guild for anyone that wants to join a guild that is involved in the immersion war for the duration of the story arc. Contact him for details.
Topic: KOS (Kill On Sight) Orders
Where should the KOS be in effect?
Decision: KOS applies in Nocturnus at agreed upon RP events. If parties involved leave those areas Common Sense should dictate how to handle matters.
How long should a KOS be allowed to go on?
Decision: Topic was tabled until next meeting as there was a great amount of discussion and very different opinions.
Action Items/Other Items Discussed:
Guilds involved in immersion war should be sure to add dStar to the list of guilds at war.
AI: Guild Leaders please make sure the war is turned on with dStar.
There was some question as to who was in charge of Nocturnus as Adunaphel was believed to have stepped down IC.
AI: Cryil was going to get with Novall and find out what is going on there.
It was decided that another meeting should be held.
AI: Nuri (that's right, me) is responsible for calling that meeting. (Look for another thread for this.)
Thank you to all who attended and my thanks for being patient at the meeting. It's hard to keep things running smoothly with so many people involved and I appreciate all the help. For a first go round and with us kind of winging the format, I think it went exceptionally well. We settled in nicely.
I may have missed a few things, but I will add them when I get a chance to re-read last night's log when I get home from work.
Also, as I mentioned above, we should have a complete log from the meeting posted soon. It was late last night when the meeting wrapped up and we didn't have a chance to clean the log up to post. Expect one by Friday.
I am more than willing to moderate at the next meeting if people would like me to. I tried to do my best to ensure that we kept things on track and focused and that everyone who wanted a say could have it. Since we are sort of running the meeting as a representative democracy, I bow to the wishes of the people on whether you all want me to moderate the next one. _________________ Nurian Avari

Yep, Thanks a lot Nuri, I was almost to the point of pulling out the flamethrower to get everybody to sit down and try to get constructive about things instead of every one talking at once. _________________

I believe that we agreed that the KOS, as well as the war itself, applies in Nocturnus at any time AND at agreed upon RP events. So far, the only agreed upon RP event is S&V.
MERCS has several years of experience in this area due to RP bounties, and we are following their lead. _________________ "It is. Deal with it." |

In fact, KOS is just an extension of the RP bounty system.

The element of surprise
This is probably one of your best tools. Pouncing on your mark when they're completely buffed up and ready to battle isn't the best of ideas. The best thing to do would be to follow your mark as discreetly as possible until they're in a non combat state, such as relaxing in a cantina. Better yet, wait until they're fighting something else, and then jump into the fray to finish them off.
Here's an example from my own personal experience. I was hunting a certain Jedi, and I found that he was Krayt hunting. Being that he's out hunting Krayt dragons, he's going to be buffed out the arse. Unfortunately, I didn't consider that fact. Nor did I wait until he was actually engaged with a Krayt before attacking him. Nooooo.... I had to run in all macho and go one on one. Needless to say, it didn't work well.
Don't do what I did.
