Backround:

Nexis was born on Corusant. He was raised in an orphanage until the age of 14 when he was discovered by a young officer working for one of the inquisitors of the empire. The officer soon discovered that Nexis had the ability to move objects. He ordered him tested to see if he was force sensitive. Nexis himself soon came to realize that the officer was not his friend. So before the testing was done Nexis escaped the orphanage and became a stow-away on a freighter bound for the planet Tantoine. Once there he was discovered by the ships Captain. Not knowing what to do with the boy he brought him to his sister’s home. Knowing that his sister could not have children he left the boy in her care. Much to the dismay of his brother-in-law the Captain knew he would be in good hands.

Nexis soon grew up in the harsh environment of the desert planet of Tantoine. But it was his gift of the force that set him apart from the other children. Soon his teachers discovered that he had strange powers, and his gifts were reported to the authorities. Some time later the very same officer came to find Nexis again. This time the inquisitor was aware of just what he was, and the officer was ordered to obtain him at all costs.

Nexis came home from school to find the small sand hut he now called home to be covered in blood. The blood of his step parents he had come to love. There were storm troopers around the home, and he over heard them being advised to search the school. Upon hearing this Nexis fled after one last glimpse of the only family he ever knew. When he turned to run he ran straight into the very same Captain that had put him here some months ago. Tears running down his face the Captain looked at him with the same tears. He picked Nexis up, and took him to his ship and put him in one of the smuggling compartments he had used to get on his ship before. A search was done of the ship by storm troopers, but they didn't find Nexis.

Nexis was taken to a planet known as Dantoine. It was there that the Empire caught up with them. The Captain dropped Nexis in the star port of the main mining out post, and gave him a data pad with coordinates of a place for Nexis to hide. And with that the Captain took off with the ships guns blazing at the Tie fighters chasing his ship. This was the last Nexis ever saw of the Captain. Nexis made his way to the coordinates using what little money the Captain had given him to take a transport to a near by town. When he finally got to the coordinates he found a group of old pirates living in the mountains. He soon became their slave. He was given all of the worst chores in return for food, and a place in their cave. But soon one of the older pirates took an interest in him. He began teaching him all that he knew. Besides learning the basics anyone would learn at a school Nexis learned how to slice computer terminals. He learned all of the things a smuggler might need. But most of all Nexis discovered that this old man also knew of the powers that he possessed. The pirate had a little training in what he explained to Nexis as the Force.

After a time the old pirate became ill, and Nexis comforted him until he passed on. Just before he died he told him to search for his old master. It was with him that the old pirate felt Nexis could reach his full potential. He gave Nexis the location of a place he knew his old master frequented. And because of its remote location he felt Nexis would be fairly safe waiting for him. Nexis traveled to a cave in the mountains where it was said force crystals could be found. He waited there for months looking for the Jedi master. Unfortunately he went into the caves and was attacked by some of the cave dwellers. But he was saved by a man with a glowing green blade when he thought he would have been killed. The man was the Jedi master Nexis had been told of by the old pirate. His name was Crevis. Nexis spent several more years of his life with Crevis. Learning what Crevis called the old ways of the republic Jedi. Nexis understood that with the great power he possessed that he had an even greater respect to do what was right. When Crevis felt he had learned enough he told him he would need to find others like himself. And to pass on what he had learned, and more importantly to pass on to others with similar gifts the wisdom of how to use their gifts to help others.

Nexis soon made his very first light saber, and struck out on his own. He didn't know where he would go, but he knew the empire would still be looking for him. So he sold some of the things he had collected in his adventures and sold them. The money was enough to move around to a few planets in search of a place to call home. Thus began the wandering of Nexis Aldera.
