Yeah when I was in afghanistan I had books shipped to me from amazon and Walmart. Of course that was an APO so it really was just like shipping to the US.

I found this information for Iago as well on amazon:

Prisons

Amazon.com delivers to penitentiaries, but we strongly suggest you contact the prison first to confirm that they accept deliveries and to note any special regulations the prison might have. Some prisons don't allow delivery of hardcover books. Others place a limit on the number of items contained in a package.

We're unable to affix any special labels or instructions to the packages and on the outside will indicate only the destination address, our company name, and our return address. We also cannot allow gifts to be sent anonymously to inmates; the sender's billing address will appear on the order invoice.

Because inmates cannot sign for deliveries, packages must be sent via U.S. Mail. While Amazon.com often sends packages via U.S. Mail, we also use UPS, FedEx, and Airborne/DHL. Unfortunately, there is no way for customers to request a specific shipper. To avoid delivery problems, you might consider having the items shipped to you and then shipping them to the penitentiary via U.S. Mail.

Thanks dew, i see there are lots of star wars books (3,678 matches for the word star wars in the books section) now the only thing i need is for someone to recommend me which books to buy to have some kind of cronology and read them in the right order.

I think i could buy about 10 to 12 books so if someone can name a good series or book that i should read first than any other one please do say so.

Thanks again.

Cheers smile

PS: I thought Iago escaped from prison 2 months ago..... they must have recaptured him Razz Razz Razz

If you like to read some good after ROTJ stuff I suggest the thrawn series. Also the Boba fett trilogy is not bad if you like hearinag about Boba's past and what happens after he fell into the pit. (First book is the Mandalorian armor) Also Courtship of lia is not bad if you like reading up on dath.

There are so many good sw books I can not begin to count.

Its kind of tough to read them in a chronological order because there are a lot of books that take place 30 years apart that actually relate to each other. Start with anything written by Timothy Zahn. You won't be disappointed by his books. The thrawn trilogy, the thrawn duology, outbound flight, and survivor's quest were all pretty good boks. I liked the new jedi order series but I know a lot of people here think they were horrible. I don't remember how many are in that series but it could be over 12.

I haven't read the x-wing series yet but I hear they are good. The Boba Fett trilogy was just okay in my opinion. The Courtship of Princess Leia was a good read and gives you insight into Dathomir. The tales of (insert subject here) books are a collection of short stories about the subjects they are named after. I think tales of the bounty hunters touches on each of the bounty hunters that were sent after the millenium falcon in ESB.

Well good news and bad news.....

The good news is that i found a chronology for the books so i can start from the first eras of the star wars universe. The chronology can be found here Chronology.

The other good news is that i found at amazon almost all the books that appear in the mentioned Chronology.

The bad news is that the people or libraries or bookstores selling those books do not ship to Venezuela. I find myself with this:

"Note: non-U.S. buyers at Amazon Marketplace must be located in a country covered by Amazon.com Payments."

And the list of countries covered by amazon.com payments are:

* Australia
* Belgium
* Brazil
* Canada
* Denmark
* Finland
* France
* Germany
* Hong Kong
* Iceland
* Ireland
* Italy
* Japan
* Republic of Korea
* Mexico
* Netherlands
* New Zealand
* Norway
* Portugal
* South Africa
* Spain
* Sweden
* Switzerland
* United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales)
* United States (including U.S. protectorates)

So im basically screwed. Anyways i know ill find a solution for this. Thanks to all of you that helped me out already.

Would it be realistic to find a contact here, send them money for the book and shipping and have them send you the books? I dunno if you know anyone well enough in the US to do that or not.

Don't take this wrong because I have no idea what Venezuela is like but don't they have any kind of bookstores there?

My only knowledge of the country if from being in La Guara(sp?) and I tend to think that the whole country doesn't look like that. Especially since I am not even sure they had internet access there.

I did do a search for some kind of inter bookstore down that way but I wasn't very successful. I will keep my eyes open on that.

I did see this listing of bookstores i think. I can't read spanish and the my wife isn't at work with me to translate so maybe you can make this out. It does have some email addresses and maybe they can get the books for you?

clicky!
