I'd like to know how well received this arc is.

Come on now people, dont vote in the poll then not make a post to back up why you voted that way. I expect the "I dont cares" and the "I hate its" to post why they have the viewpoint, or not vote in the poll at all. We cant make this arc better if ytou refuse to give us input

I like it and would like to see it serve as rp impetus for several weeks, I do not see any reason to blow thru the storyline in a hurry.

I'm RPing more, with the current scenario. People actually want to RP with the useless musician. I'm only ignored in RP by some people who've gotten used to/tired of seein' me around. *grin*

It doesn't affect Iago directly, so he doesn't care either way, but I'm enjoyin' the story so far.

Wasn't exactly a vote choice for what I wanted to say but I did pick I hate it!

But, Batty, your not even playing SWG anymore; why vote?

Well, if and when I do come back I do have most of my houses there in Noc so ya could say I've got a vested interest in what happens with our central RP hub. Because I'd like to come back.

I guess if our other hate it's won't speak up as to why I can only offer up that it might be because a few players look at old posts where we wanted it to be completely neutral territory and don't like the conflict in said territory.

A sort of ooc no fight zone.

However, most of what is going on has been pretty talked about with the major players (Cym, Novall, Isleh). So, this isn't an out of the blue thing, but some of us (in game and out) just won't like it no matter what because some players really just want to log in and go to where their use to going to relax I think w/o having to worry about it ic. There is a huuuuge ammount of space in which to take conflictive RP afterall. It can touch a nerve when that place happens to be where you spend or speant most of your time.

I hope you all do have fun with this and can make it more enjoyable for the people that don't like it is about all I can end with. To the others I'd just say tell them why ya don't like it. You might be surprised how willing everyone is to hear your views and work with you. But you have to speak up when you cast that poll vote.

Just voted. I love it.

This is giving me a chance to play both Iari and Nisoa as the reluctant team they are. Each has their reason for getting involved, each with a diffrent agenda on what to do.

In a way I suggested to the "new owner" of the Angel something like what Batty said. It wouldn't be a completely neutral zone, just a weapon free zone.
Since the Angel is back open, have all weapons checked at the door, for everybody.

Now going in and out could be a problem, have to hate snipers at times, but that would have to be a risk you take for going there.

Now for the down part. of it.

People need to stop walking around acting like John Wayne. confused
So what if your a rebel or are against the "Liberation" of the city.
You do NOT step off the shuttle with a chip on your shoulder the size of the Death Star and don't care who knows it.
That work fine for pvp, because pvp is mindless lightsaber swinging and blaster shooting to see who can get the highest number of kills.

But in an RP situation, the rebels would be on their best behavior, saying yes sir, no sir, we are glad you are here to protect us from the rebel scum, have a good day sir.

You smile, be curtious and very cooprative to their face and anywhere you know they may be or monitoring, all the while memorizing such things as good attack postions, strength of the enemy at diffrent times of the day, best place to station your snipers. Twisted Evil

Everybody has to remember, wars are not won by guns alone.
Where firepower is unequil, you need brain power to overcome it.

I'm sure not all of you would agree with the above since we all have diffrent ways of RPing, but the above is just good common sense in any combat situation concering resistance fighters.
Just ask the Israeli army, they have been having to put up with it since late 60's, early 70's.

A dead resistance fighter, is just that, out of the major fight. Yeah, sure, you could get a medal when all is said and done, but it would be nicer to wear the medal while drinking down at the cantina with your friends than wear it on your chest in your grave.

Ok, I'll shut up now, just thought I would drop in my 2 credits worth.
But after scrolling back up and reading all of this, I think it's more along the lines of a few hundred credits worth. laughing

I guess I will add my 2 cents.

It seemed not so long ago as if a lot of complaints were floating around about RP being slow and people not having anything to get involved in. Some major players left Hashum & Shensen and others are on leave Dew & Jabe. So some major names and faces are not in game and RP pushing things like the once did. Even the RP venues such as Ryl and S&V etc… were said to contain less and less RP opportunity and environment for people to get involved in. New people were interested in coming into the community but weren’t sure about how to get involved. I've welcomed multiple new comers with the action in this arc!!

Now an arc comes along and seems to upset people since it centers in Noc and will involve everyone. As a pirate city there would at some point be someone who wanted to take over and control it. So Mercs backed with an Imperial presence comes in and takes over. Now this does not mean everyone needs to get involved in RPvP and combat. Just because Mercs is now on patrols and ID’ing people etc… doesn’t mean you have to fight them. If they infringe on your freedom, then you might want to join the Alliance (Noc & Reb) and push them out. Backing NRC and the other allies does not mean you have to fight with us. It would help, but you can do many things in RP to help out. Make friends with the enemy, give us some inside intel, as an entertainer coax one of the enemy to your side, then stab him in the back, and so on.

Yes it seems as if sides are forming and we as a community do not want to be split, but remember this is an arc. It will end as they all have done and another one will come along. None of this is going to be ongoing as spliting the community up.

I know me not being in game due to RL right now seems to hinder my side. I’m trying my best to stay in communication and show up for the major events right now till I am back on my usual schedule. Cylestya is pushing things on my side and communicating with me on most if not all of it to make sure I agree. With the addition of Nisoa and Highsky hopefully the can help Cylest push things for us. If I’m not in game contact her for info or help from my side.

I wanted to give everyone the opportunity and RP that they said was lacking. Although this may not be the best way to get it, the opportunity is there now. sly wink

I am all about trying to make everyone as comfortable in this arc as possible. I know that not gonna happen. There's going to be ups and downs just like everything else. There's one thing about this arc that is unlike some of the other past arcs in that it's totally open and progression depends on weather or not the citizens of Noc love their city enough to do something about it.

I have been part of Nocturnus in some form or other since the town was almost new. Hell, the MERCS stronghold took up almost 25% of the town at one time. So I'm doing my best to keep everything as easy for Noc as possible while still giving the RP community something to do.

Conflict is probably one of the best community organizing events that can happen. It's not because it forces people to pick sides, but it forces people to realize what they really care about and hold dear.

Anyhow, thats all I have to say for the moment =)

Yes, there have been a few problems, but it's to be expected.
The main thing I am noticing is some are just going a bit to far.
I have no idea why, maybe it's just the game mechanics getting in the way, maybe it's just something some people don't think their character would get into.
/shrug.

Yes, I'm posting a heck of a lot more than I normally do, and for good reason.
I would hate to see this arc just go away due to lack of interest.

For the first time since I have joined the community there is something an Entertainer can do other than stand there and smile.

I voted I like it. It is adding more to RP and I am seeing more people in Nocturnus than I have for some time.

Not in my home...

This exact reason why some dislike this plot is the exact reason why others are so inticed. This is a setting that war is reaching almost every part of the galaxy. Why not Nocturnus?

In the end... people are motivated. Either getting involved smile or leaving frown but, at least we're moving. I voted yes because I see things happening

I voted yes...because I'm having fun, not getting enough sleep, not getting enough done, and having too many meetings...and did I mention that I'm having fun?

I'm also seeing improvement in certain areas and people in the roleplay sense. Yay, Gurgeaun! That was some good stuff, yesterday.

New to RP and new to the site, but I wanted to add a few comments to this.

I came across Novall's post in the SWG roleplayer forums last week, and became interested when I saw they had "occupied" nocturnus. I've never done RP before, but figured I'd give it a shot, and told a guildie about it. So, this past Friday night, we arrive for our "boot camp" with the MERCS - and we both were blown away! Did some patrolling in nocturnus, some searching of buildings, then got ambushed by some insurgents - great stuff! I'd really hate for this story arc to stop - it's getting some people (like myself and my guildie) who'd never thought about RP to give it a try!

I enjoy this arc, unfortunately it came at a time when we were already working to get our new Academy and guild up and running. So if you dont see Drew around lately its pretty much because Im working to manage the early stages of our new venture. Now that we have determined the Jedi can fight with a bit of anonmymity it will help the members of -AR- to get more involved without fear of destroying the mystique we are working towards. Im looking forward to our OOC meeting so we can get everyone on the same page.
