The file on this subject begins with his father who was a known smuggler that worked for Borvo the Hutt. He raised Hojo on his own on Corellia while working for the Hutt organization specializing in weapons trafficing. His high profile cargo brought him to the attention of the Black Sun which tried to recruit him away from the Borvo. His father refused and then paid the price. Hojo's father was killed in a cantina in the city of Kor Vella when Hojo was 14 years of age. The only inofrmation he knew of his mother was that she was a Twi'lek maiden that worked for Borvo when his father began flying convoys.
Hojo supported himself by learning the streets of Kor Vella as a pickpocket and petty thief. At the age of nineteen he came to the attention of Borvo and was taken into the Hutt organization as a entry level enforcer. Within two years Hojo was piloting large interstellar shipment of contraband for Borvo showing his father's aptitude for flying and smuggling.
At the age of 31 Hojo first met Tobaira Suilebahn, a dancer and image designer working in Mos Espa. She introduced him to Eywill Getu, a bounty hunter also working in the area. The three formed a partnership and started Universal Exports, an import and export firm also known for locating individuals and high profile artifacts. A few months after forming the company, Hojo and Tobaira were married.
Unhappy with losing one of their top smugglers, the Hutts retaliated. Hojo came home to find his wife missing and a blood-stained dress in their bedroom. He spent months tryign to track the trail of his wife and the men that did this to her with no luck. Hojo sought revenge for the murder of his wife by wreaking havoc on the Hutt's operations, targeting convoys, destroying installations, and removing key members of their smuggling syndicate. A few months later Tobaira returned. She explained that she had merely been kidnapped and help and was finally able to escape. She believed that he had never attempted to find her and it destroyed their marriage. Tobaira and Eywill moved to a planet outside the outer rim and Hojo was left to decide his next direction.
